Frequently asked questions
Does the price include the PECB exam?
Yes. £449 covers the official PECB eLearning, the exam voucher, remote proctoring, and the certification fee. There is no separate exam charge to pay later.
How many exam attempts are included?
Two. Your first sitting is included, and if you do not pass you can resit free within 12 months.
Are there any additional fees?
Not from us. £449 is the total charged at checkout, in pounds, and nothing is added on top. The one ongoing cost is PECB's own Annual Maintenance Fee of USD 120, which keeps the credential active. Your first year is already included in the course price, so that fee starts in year two and is paid to PECB directly.
How long does the course take?
Most people finish in 30 to 40 hours of study, spread over two to four weeks. It is the eLearning equivalent of a five day classroom course, and you get 12 months of access, so you can go faster or slower.
What is the exam format?
Three hours, open book, 80 multiple choice and scenario questions, with 70% to pass. It is remotely proctored, so you sit it from home or the office at a date and time you choose within your 12 months of access.
Is the certification recognised in the UK?
Yes. PECB is an international certification body and the credential is the same certificate wherever you sit the exam. UK employers and procurement teams recognise ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor as the audit credential for the standard.
Do I need audit experience before I enrol?
No. You can sit the exam without it. Experience matters afterwards, when you apply for a credential level: Provisional Auditor needs none, and Auditor and Lead Auditor add work experience and audit hours on the same exam result.
Is a copy of the ISO 27001 standard included?
No, and you do not need it to complete the course or pass the exam. ISO/IEC 27001 is a licensed document, so if you want your own copy you buy it from iso.org or your national standards body.
