Is the Certified EU AI Governance Professional course self-study or live?
It is self-study. You receive the official PECB course materials and an exam voucher, and you study at your own pace. There are no scheduled classes, no live sessions, and no video lessons. The course and the exam are in English.
What is the exam format?
The exam is 80 multiple-choice questions over 3 hours, with a pass mark of 70%. It is open book: you may use a copy of the EU AI Act, the course materials, and your own notes. You sit it online by remote proctoring or on paper. One free retake is included within 12 months if you do not pass the first time.
Does the EU AI Act apply to Australian organisations?
It can. The Act applies to providers that place AI systems or general-purpose AI models on the EU market, wherever they are based, and to providers and deployers outside the EU when the output of their AI system is used in the EU. An Australian organisation that sells AI products into Europe, or whose AI outputs are used there, may have obligations under the Act.
How is this different from ISO 42001 Lead Implementer?
ISO/IEC 42001 is a voluntary management system standard for governing AI across an organisation. The EU AI Act is a law, with obligations that depend on how an AI system is classified and on your role. This course focuses on meeting those legal obligations. Many organisations use an ISO 42001 management system to organise that work.
