Is the Certified AI Security Professional course self-study or live?
It is self-study. You receive the official PECB course materials and an exam voucher, and you study at your own pace. There are no scheduled classes, no live sessions, and no video lessons. The course and the exam are in English.
What is the exam format?
The exam runs for 3 hours, in English, and is sat online by remote proctoring or on paper. It covers five competency domains. PECB has not yet published the question count or the pass mark for this exam, so we do not state them. One free retake is included within 12 months if you do not pass the first time.
Do I need a security background?
Yes, this one assumes a working grounding. PECB expects a solid foundation in core cybersecurity concepts, including threat modelling, access control, incident response, and security monitoring, plus a basic understanding of how machine learning systems work. If you are coming from the governance side rather than the technical side, the Certified AI Manager (CAIM) course is the better starting point.
How is this different from the Certified AI Professional (CAIP)?
CAIP is about building and deploying AI systems. This course is about attacking and defending them: adversarial threats, prompt injection, AI red teaming, monitoring, incident response, and secure architecture. They complement each other, and you can take both at a 5% discount in one checkout.
